APA Division 48 (Peace Psychology) Membership Committee

Zoom Presentation Series

Purpose

The Membership Committee Zoom Presentation Series aims to spotlight the work of Division 48 members and foster collaboration, networking, and dialogue on peace psychology topics. We welcome submissions from members at all career stages and encourage work that reflects the diverse global, theoretical, and methodological orientations of our field.

Application Process

Members interested in presenting their work should complete our short application form (https://forms.gle/r1e69SvUZEoMXMSa6), which includes:

  • Title of presentation

  • Abstract (250–300 words)

  • Short bio (100–150 words)

  • Preferred month(s)/dates for your presentation (if any)                                                                                                                                       

Review Timeline

  • Initial confirmation: Applicants will receive confirmation of receipt within 5 business days from a representative of the Membership Committee.

  • Review period: Applications will be reviewed within 3 weeks of submission by the Membership Committee.

  • Notification: Applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision no later than 4 weeks after submission. 

Selection Criteria

Presentations will be selected based on the following:

  1. Relevance to peace psychology: Alignment with Division 48’s mission and priorities

  2. Contribution to one of the following: research, practice, activism: Clarity of purpose, soundness of argument/method, originality, or practical application

  3. Diversity, equity and inclusion: Priority will be given to submissions that reflect underrepresented voices

  4. Balance: Efforts will be made to ensure diversity in topics, presenters, and formats over time
